Inclusion statement

Various hands

At the Scottish Women's Rights Centre (SWRC) we aim to be inclusive and welcoming to all women, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership status, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or pregnancy and maternity.

We will not tolerate the use of discriminatory language or behaviour relating to any of these characteristics, by service users or staff.

We are a women-centred service based on self-identification. Our services are open to people regardless of the circumstances in which they have experienced gender-based violence including but not limited to an occasion they have engaged in the exchange or selling of sex – whether this was through choice or coercion.

We also understand that trans women and non-binary people who are survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence and all forms of gender-based violence share the same need for the provision of safety, support and advocacy services as non-trans women. Trans women are therefore eligible to use our services as are non-binary people who feel comfortable accessing support in women-centred spaces.
