Training
Immigration & Gender-Based Violence. Supporting Women Survivors
This online training will introduce participants to a better understanding of immigration and how it relates to gender-based violence and rights for women in Scotland. It is aimed at those supporting victims/survivors.
This session will equip attendees with a basic understanding of immigration options for survivors of gender-based violence, including immigration applications based on domestic abuse. Participants should gain the ability to confidently support and provide information to survivors so they can make informed choices when obtaining their own legal representation. Please note that it is not intended to provide information on conducting legal cases.
Who can attend?
This training has been designed for violence against women organisations and support workers in Scotland but will also be useful for third sector staff and volunteers, community-based organisations and anyone interested in learning more about the topic.
An understanding of GBV is helpful but not necessary, and you do not need to be working directly with survivors to attend.
Free spaces are available for Advocacy workers of the Rape Crisis Network. Please email the SWRC team at eventbrite@scottishwomensrightscentre.org.uk to register.
