Advice surgeries

Two people talking

Our legal advice surgeries are an opportunity to discuss your case in detail with one of our solicitors and get more specific legal advice.

We have different surgeries available depending on your circumstances:

  • General advice surgeries for women who have experienced any form of abuse
  • Immigration advice surgeries for women who have experienced gender-based violence and immigration issues

Below you will find details of what to expect from each type of advice surgery and how to book an appointment.

Advice for any form of abuse or violence

Our general advice surgeries are available for women aged 16 and over who have experienced any form of abuse.

These surgeries are open by appointment only, they last 1 hour and can take place by phone or video call.

Urgent legal advice

If you need urgent advice, we recommend you to find a solicitor. You can search our list of solicitors who have completed our SWRC domestic abuse training. Alternatively, visit the Law Society of Scotland's website to find solicitors in your area.

Book an appointment

Appointments are generally available every Thursday at 11am, 12pm and 2pm. We will update this page with any cancellations.

To book an appointment:

  1. Call our office to book an appointment on 0141 331 4183.
  2. We will check availability for upcoming appointments and find one to suit you.
  3. We'll then ask for your contact details, if you prefer a phone or video call, and some initial information about the advice you need.
  4. If you need a language interpreter to communicate with our solicitors, let us know when booking. We can provide one for free.

Advice on immigration and gender-based violence

Our immigration advice surgeries are available for women aged 16 and over who have experienced immigration issues and any form of abuse.

These surgeries are open by appointment only, they last 1 hour and can take place by phone or video call.
