Training

Protective Orders and Gender-Based Violence

This training will provide basic information on a variety of different protective orders in relation to working with women who are experiencing GBV and Abuse.

This training will focus on Interdicts, Exclusion Orders and Non-Harassment Orders, and briefly highlight availability of Forced Marriage Protection Orders and Female Genital Mutilation Protective Orders.

Evidential requirements and the practical process will be covered.

This training is aimed at organisations and agencies who would like to learn about the civil justice process, in particular, the different protective orders available in cases of Gender-Based Violence. While an understanding of Gender-Based violence is ideal, it is not necessary, and you do not need to be working directly with survivors to attend this training.

Please note that the first section of this training, an overview of both the Scottish Women’s Right Centre and Just Right Scotland, and an introduction to the civil legal system are also covered in the ‘Child Contact, Residence, and Domestic Abuse’ training and the ‘Damages, Compensation, and Gender-Based Violence’ training also offered on the Scottish Women’s Right Centre Training Calendar.

This training session will be around an hour and a half. Keep an eye on this page for future dates.
