Understanding Domestic Abuse for Lawyers Entering the Profession

This training provides newly qualified solicitors, trainee solicitors, paralegals, and experienced law students (diploma and LLM/ LLB students) with an introduction to domestic abuse, the impact of trauma, and an overview of the law on protective orders.

This training has been designed for newly qualified solicitors, trainee solicitors, paralegals, and experienced law students (diploma and LLM/ LLB students). This training aims to support attendees in creating a strong foundation of understanding and identifying domestic abuse, relevant legal information to support clients who are experiencing domestic abuse, and how to work in a trauma-informed way.

Those who complete it will be given the opportunity to apply to shadow solicitors involved with the SWRC.

This training was created as an introduction to the SWRC Approved Solicitor Training on Domestic Abuse for solicitors with 2 years post-qualification experience.
