Sexual Harassment CPD for Lawyers
This online course is for legal professionals to better understand how the law on sexual harassment relates to the workplace. It can count towards verifiable CPD.
Damages, Compensation and Gender-Based Violence
This training will cover the basics on seeking compensation and damages in gender-based violence situations.
This training is aimed at organisations and agencies who would like to learn about the civil justice process, in particular, what options are available to survivors of Gender-based Violence when looking into making a claim for Compensation and/or Damages.
While an understanding of Gender-Based Violence is ideal, it is not necessary, and you do not need to be working directly with survivors to attend this training.
Protective Orders and Gender-Based Violence
This training will provide basic information on a variety of different protective orders in relation to working with women who are experiencing GBV and Abuse.
This training will focus on Interdicts, Exclusion Orders and Non-Harassment Orders, and briefly highlight availability of Forced Marriage Protection Orders and Female Genital Mutilation Protective Orders.
Evidential requirements and the practical process will be covered.
Child Contact, Residence and Domestic Abuse
This training will provide basic information on facilitating child contact in a domestic abuse situation.
This training is aimed at organisations and agencies who would like to learn about the civil justice process, in particular, what options are available to women survivors of Domestic Abuse who need support around child contact.
While an understanding of Gender-Based violence is ideal, it is not necessary, and you do not need to be working directly with survivors to attend this training.
Stalking, Harassment and Using the FollowItApp
This training is aimed at organisations and agencies who would like to understand the signs and impacts stalking and harassment has on women survivors, become acquainted with the FollowItApp, and learn how to refer the women they work with to this tool.
While an understanding of Gender-Based violence is ideal, it is not necessary, and you do not need to be working directly with survivors to attend this training.
SWRC Approved Domestic Abuse Training for Solicitors
We offer an Approved Domestic Abuse Training for Solicitors, which aims to introduce you to domestic abuse legislation in Scotland as well as good practice when working with people who have experienced domestic abuse.
The training consists of 2 modules and those who complete both will be included in our network of solicitors.
Being part of this network means your contact details will be added to a list available on our website for women seeking a solicitor for a domestic abuse-related case.
CPD training video: Coercive control and the law - a trauma informed approach
This video is aimed at legal professionals and it explores trauma-informed practice and its benefits when working with those who have experienced domestic abuse.
Solicitors can claim 1 hour CPD by watching the video, completing the supplementary readings and answering the questions available on the Law Society of Scotland website here.
